A Vision Board Story (and an Invitation to Share Yours)
Hey friends,
I would love to gather some vision board stories for a blog post to help inspire, educate, motivate. If you have an interesting or inspiring vision board story to share, will you please send it to me via this form?
Thank you in advance!!
And while we’re on the subject, I’ll share one of my own—still very much in progress.
I’ve included a little something about astrology on all my vision boards ever since I first became fascinated by it. But this past summer I made a vision board entirely about astrology and being an astrologer.
My recent vision board about astrology
I spent some time journaling and thinking about the role I wanted astrology to play in my life and work and decided that I wanted to bring it to the forefront more.
I‘d studied astrology extensively, received certifications, and incorporated readings into my business coaching work. But when Hurricane Helene hit western North Carolina last year, it felt like so many of the pieces of my life flew up into the air and scattered around my feet. I got a job in disaster recovery and put astrology on the back burner along with a lot of other things.
Making a vision board about astrology was perhaps more a way for me to nurture that part of myself back into the forefront as it was about achieving something per se. It was a bit like creating a two-dimensional altar to something that was important to me. A way to explore and sit with and honor that interest. And to keep it top of mind.
And as I did, I started taking action.
I started doing readings again.
The Nightlight Astrology reading platform
I decided to accept a position on the Nightlight Astrology need-based reading platform, offering astrology consultations on evenings and weekends.
I added an astrology page to my website.
The books on my bedside table shifted back to astrology.
As I said earlier, this is very much a story still in progress, but perhaps illustrates one of the ways I use vision boards.
For processing. For honoring. To have a conversation with myself and the universe about something that is important to me that I want to explore and nurture and bring to the forefront.
Notes explaining my choice of images on my vision board and what they represent
By the way, my vision board might not look like it’s all about astrology to you and that’s okay.
I always tell people in my workshops that the images on your vision board should capture the essence of what you desire but only need to have meaning for you. No one else needs to understand what an image represents.
I stand by that, but just for fun, and because I haven’t done this before and wanted to illustrate this concept, I decided to share some of what the images on this particular vision board represent.
Share Your Vision Board Story
If you have made a vision board in the past and are willing to share your reflections, results, or a story, please submit it via the button below. My aim is to compile some vision board stories in a blog post to inspire, educate, and motivate.
And if you want to make a vision board about something you’d like to nurture in your life, I have blog posts and plenty of free resources to help you get started here on Life Dreamery. I haven’t been leading vision board workshops lately, except for teams and organizations, but perhaps it's time to schedule one for you all.
Xo,
Jean
